President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting here on Thursday with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in which they discussed bilateral ties, regional developments and means to overcome terror threats.
According to presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef, the president expressed appreciation for the United Arab Emirates over support for the Egyptian people.
They discussed cooperation between the two sides to confront terrorism and extremism, the spokesman added.
The crown prince renewed his country's support for Cairo, asserting Egypt is a key for stability in the Middle East.
Sheikh Mohammed arrived in Cairo on Thursday on a short visit to meet President Sisi.
