President Abdel Fatah el Sisi on Sunday asserted Egypt's support to Iraq's national sovereignty and territorial integrity to restore security and stability and push ahead the reconstruction process.
Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Electricity Qasim al Fahadawi, in the presence of Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker.
The meeting tackled boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of electricity and energy to serve common interests.
Sisi affirmed Egypt's support to all sectors including electricity through training human cadres in Iraq, pointing out to Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation with Iraqi brothers in all spheres, Presidential Spokesperson Alaa Yosef said.
The Iraqi minister, who conveyed Iraqi leaders's greetings to Sisi, asserted the close relations at both popular and state levels, he said.
Iraq is looking forward to benefiting from Egyptian expertise in all sectors, adding that there are broad aspects for fostering bilateral cooperation and implementing joint projects in the fields of electricity and energy, the Iraqi minister said.
Sisi welcomed the Iraqi guest and asked to convey his greetings to his Iraqi counterpart and prime minister.
