President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Sunday Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti.
Minniti, who doubles as Italy's deputy prime minister, is considered the first senior official to visit Egypt after diplomatic relations were restored between the two countries, official sources said.
The sources added that the visit is expected to help boost bilateral relations in the coming period, especially in the fields of economy, investment, trade and tourism.
