President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Yemeni Vice President and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah to discuss the latest developments in Yemen, said Spokesman for the Presidency Alaa Yousef.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed the importance of political solution to the Yemeni crisis and maintaining its territorial integrity.
The president also underlined support for a role played by the Yemeni army in restoring security and stability in the country.
Sisi also reiterated Egypt's stance supporting the Yemeni people, voicing readiness to provide all kinds of support to Yemen to bring about stability and security.
For his part, Bahah conveyed greetings of Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi to President Sisi, praising accomplishments achieved by Egypt on political and economic levels.
Bahah underlined the importance of cooperation between Egypt and Yemen, taking into account that Arab national security is linked to the security of the Red Sea region.
Bahah briefed Sisi on the developments in Yemen over the past two years, praising an initiative put forward to establish Arab Joint Force that is due to achieve security and stability in the region.
Present at the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Interior Magdi Abdel Ghafar and a raft of Yemeni ministers and officials.
