Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi met here today with Belgium's Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Didier Reynders who is currently visiting Tunisia.
During the meeting they reviewed relations of cooperation between the two countries, the regional situation and its implications on the regional states.
The Tunisian president touched on the role Belgium could play to help Tunisia in its dialogue with the European Union and its contribution to the provision of facilities necessary for the fight against terrorism and border security.
For his part, the Belgian official confirmed his country's intention to support cooperation with Tunisia via further investment and the transfer of part of Tunisia's debts to investment in border areas.
The Belgian official, who began yesterday a two-day visit to Tunisia, met after arrival with his Tunisian counterpart Tayeb Bakouch to discuss matters of mutual concern especially issues related to Libya and their implications on the regional states.
