Vice- president of the Supreme Political Council Dr. Qasim Labuza met here on Sunday at the Republican Palace with Minister of Transport Zakaria al-Shami.
The vice-president underlined the great importance of the transport ministry's pivotal role in the development field, which made it a direct target by the aggression.
Dr. Labuza directed the ministry to quickly make maintenance for cranes of Hodeidah Port and buy extra cranes in addition to what would be provided by the United Nations in this aspect.
He urged to re-run the Land Transport Authority and control the collection of land transportation fees.
In the meeting, the transport minister indicated to the damages caused by the aggression in the air, land and sea transport sectors, where the total losses exceeded three billion dollars according to preliminary estimates.
Al-Shami reviewed the ministry's plans, future policies and programs for the year 2017, which aimed to enhance the institutional construction, as well as the restoration of the damage, which affected air, sea and land transport sectors.
