The giant (mol tripute) container ship of Marshall Islands crossed the Suez canal coming from Sri Lanka en route to Morocco's Tanger-Med port on Wednesday.
The seventh biggest container ship in the world that was first operated in past March had topped the southern convoy of the Suez Canal laden with 216,000 tons accompanied by a crane affiliated to the Suez Canal, said a Suez Canal Authority source
It took the giant ship 11 hours to transit the waterway.
The giant container ship is 400 meters long and 59 meters wide and can carry about 201,000 tons.
As well, about 55 ships have transited the Suez Canal with a total cargo of 3.2 million tons.
