Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, accompanied by the Jordanian tourism and work ministers, visited the historic Petra city at the end of his visit to the kingdom on Thursday.

Mahlab, who led a high-level ministerial delegation, was in Jordan to attend the Egyptian-Jordanian supreme joint committee.

The premier listened to an explanation about the history of the city which houses Roman theaters, temples, houses and roads.

He said that he agreed with the tourism minister that there should be cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in the field of tourism.

Mahlab visited also the tourist project established by the Egyptian businessman Mansour Amer named "Porto Dead Sea" which groups 11.000 apartments, four five-star hotels and a mall.
