MENA launches Middle East Dialogue Forum Wednesday
Cairo - Arab Today

The Middle East News Agency (MENA) will hold on Wednesday at 6 pm a press conference to announce the launch of the "Middle East Dialogue Forum" under MENA Board Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Alaa Heider.

The forum aims to deepen public discussion on political, economic, social and cultural interactions that have been taking place in Egypt post Jan. 25 and June 30 revolutions, Secretary General of the Forum Mahmoud al Shenawi said.

It also aims at contributing to policy-making process through bringing together a host of well-known experts and academics, al Shenwai added.

He further said that the forum will fill the void in dialogue domains in the north African country with a view to finding solution to local problems, adding that it will submit a letter of recommendation to decision-maker in order to help in resolving local and regional crises.

The event, which comes in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives on swift and effective action against challenges facing the country, is deemed a contribution by the MENA to serve the national and Arab security goals.

Beside discussing local issues, the forum will tackle and analyze the situations in Arab communities, al Shenawi stressed.

Challenges of identity, citizenship, partition, unity, dependency as well as development facing Arab countries will be floated during MENA-sponsored forum, the Secretary general pointed out.

Al Shenawi, meanwhile, said National Council for Human Right (NCHR) Chairman Mohamed Fayeq will honorary chair the social event.

Founding members of the forum includes Supreme Press Council Member Hassan Emad Mekkawy and Head of Media Studies Sector at Supreme Council of Universities Samy Abdel Aziz, along with many other intellectuals.
