President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is set to honor eight scholars Thursday on the occasion of al Mawlid al Nabawi (the Prophet Muhamed's birthday anniversary).
This move comes in recognition of the great role played by the eight scholars in the religious and cultural fields.
The honorees include former president of Al Azhar University Dr. Osama Al Abd, Head of the Cairo-based Kuwaiti office for Charity Projects Ismail Al-Kandari, former director of Awqaf in Aswan Mohamed Abdel Aziz Touba, Bahraini Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, and four teaching staff at Al Azhar University and the Awqaf Ministry.
