Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will pay an official visit to Thailand on July 23 at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, said a Vietnamese official here on Thursday.
Le Hai Binh, spokesperson of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement at a regular press briefing held in capital Hanoi on Thursday.
During the visit, Dung and Chan-o-cha will co-chair the third Joint Vietnam-Thailand Cabinet Retreat.
"Dung's visit to Thailand aims at consolidating and strengthening Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership in all cooperation areas, particularly politics, security, defense, economic, trade, investment and labor as well as promoting cooperation between the two countries at regional and sub-regional mechanisms," Binh told reporters.
During the visit, Dung is expected to attend a Vietnam-Thailand business dialogue and meet with Vietnamese business community in Thailand, said Binh.
Vietnam and Thailand established diplomatic relations in 1976.
