Kelly Clarkson plans to collaborate with Demi Lovato on new music.
The 32-year-old singer revealed as much in an interview with MTV News. Clarkson told reporter Christina Garibaldi she and Lovato were unable to work together in the past, but promised a joint effort is yet to come.
"We almost did, we almost got to work together," the star recalled. "I was pregnant and she had asked me to sing. I totally was down, and I think it just didn't work out."
"She was touring, I was super pregnant and not feeling well and it didn't work out this time, but it totally will," she vowed. "I love her; she's so sweet. Every time we see each other, she's always like, 'I like Kelly Clarkson!' She's always so nice, I love it. So awesome, we're both Texans."
Lovato previously listed Clarkson as one of her "dream collabs" in April 2014 on Twitter. Clarkson recently admitted she was turned down for collaborations by a number of recording artists, and confessed she is starting to feel like she has "the plague."
Clarkson released her seventh studio album, Piece by Piece, in February, and announced an accompanying North American tour last week. Lovato debuted her fourth record, Demi, in May 2013, and has a fifth album in the works.
