M.S. Yousafzai’s new poetry collection, “The Chasing Glance: The Expression Garden” (published by AuthorHouse), will be featured at the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair, an annual conference in Germany.
The Frankfurt Book Fair places a heavy emphasis on innovation and new trends in the literary industry. With the number of conference goers often exceeding 250,000, Yousafzai is hopeful his work will reach many new readers.
Drawing solely from the things he sees and knows, Yousafzai believes his poetry will be relatable for many readers, as it is composed of elements drawn from daily life. He also believes his poetry will help heal readers who deal with problems similar to those present in the collection: loss of love, depression and finding faith.
An excerpt from the poem, “Holy Father Adam” in “The Chasing Glance”:
“Blessed entity, the first human was descended to the earth.
He was sixty feet tall, with the mercy of God since his birth.
His birth without parents, from this clay increases my mirth.
Why we all have forgotten his life an example of best worth.”
