Renowned author and novelist Mekkawi Said will sign his latest book, Kuraset Al-Tahrir (The Tahrir Notebook), on Tuesday, 3 December, at 7:00pm at a ceremony hosted by his publisher, Al-Dar Al-Masriah Al-Lubnanniah, in downtown Cairo. The book tackles the first 18 days of the January 25 Revolution, reviewing events and reflecting on the stances of artists and writers during the Tahrir Square sit-in. The book cover is designed by Amr El-Kafrawy. Mekkawi Said was born in Cairo, 6 July 1956, He launched his writing career during the 1970s. He is best known for his novel Taghreedat Al-Bag’a (The Swan Song), which saw him nominated for the Arabic Booker Prize in 2008. Source: Ahram Online
