Abu Dhabi’s tourism industry is heading on tour to Kuwait later this month to promote just how much there is to see and do in the emirate to expatriates and Kuwaitis alike.
The campaign, which will take place at The Avenues Mall from October 23rd to 25th, will feature representatives from the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld water park, Rotana Hotels and Resorts and Etihad Airways.
Young Yola (traditional Emirati dance) dancers from the emirate, will take part in the campaign to bring a fun and festive atmosphere to the promotion.
Mubarak Al Nuaimi, Director of Promotions and Overseas Offices, TCA Abu Dhabi, said, "This is a very timely initiative. It comes as the number of Kuwaitis staying in the emirate’s hotels and resorts is rising and as our major events calendar for the year-end is filled with events and cultural activities suitable for all ages." Visitors to the Abu Dhabi promotion will be able to get the latest news on October and November’s Arabian premiere on Yas Island of the award-winning Broadway musical, "Beauty and The Beast", next month’s F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the after-race Yasalam concerts featuring British rock icons The Who, American singer-songwriter and producer, Pharrell Williams and award-winning international DJ, Armin Van Buuren.
The promotion agenda will also include Abu Dhabi’s plans for National Day in December, including the Arabian debut of Nitro Circus Live, and the hosting of the Volvo Ocean Race fleet from December 12th until January 3rd, when the emirate will host a series of celebrations in a purpose-built destination village on Abu Dhabi Corniche, including the Arabian debut of BBC Worldwide’s highly acclaimed "Blue Planet in Concert" which will open the race stopover.
The delegation to Kuwait will also highlight upcoming performances in the re-launched Abu Dhabi Classics annual concert series, which runs until May next year and brings some of the world’s best classical performers and orchestras to Abu Dhabi.
In the first eight months of this year, 21,129 Kuwaitis checked into Abu Dhabi’s 156 hotels and hotel apartments, a 42 percent rise on the same period last year, and delivered 54,721 guest nights, a rise of 44 percent, staying an average of three nights.
"We are encouraged by this increase and we hope that Kuwaitis visiting Abu Dhabi will extend their stay and take in the many and varied places, attractions and events the emirate has to offer," said Al Nuaimi.
