Paris-based Europe's leading airline Air France-KLM reported on Monday a jump in September passenger traffic thanks to the dynamic American networks. The French major airline Air France-KLM saw passenger traffic rise by 9.3 percent in September from the same month a year before with passengers totaled 6.86 million, the group said in a statement posted on its website. Flights to and from the American destinations showed the strongest performance with 12.2 percent jump to 6.89 billion euros (9.37 billion U.S. dollars). Traffic of Africa and Middle East networks also rose by 2.9 percent after falling by 0.1 percent in August due to violent unrest in several countries in the region, it added. Passenger segment activity gained 1.5 point in load factor to 85.2 percent. "However, given the volatility of recent months and based on currently available indicators, activity in October could be less dynamic," the Franco-Dutch joint venture said. Fewer frequencies pulled down the group's cargo traffic by 3.4 percent to 931 million euros (1.26 billion dollars) in September. The load factor was at 64.7 percent down from 67.6 percent in last September.
