The Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has announced the upcoming launch of 'Hala Bahrain', a new company offering a range of services aimed at further improving the passenger travel experience at BIA.
The newly registered company, with a paid up capital of BD100,000, will be providing lounge services for passengers and airlines, concierge services (information services, hotel booking, city tours) and a number of airside and landside transportation solutions.
BAC's Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousef Al Binfalah, said: "This announcement complements BAC contributions to the Airport Modernisation Programme, which is an extensive regeneration programme of Bahrain International Airport resulting in the transformation of the airport into a modern efficient regional hub equipped to sustain the robust growth in the aviation sector in the Kingdom and aligned to fulfill Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030."
He added: "With Executive Committee support and Board of Directors approval, BAC has been looking into introducing innovative services that will be ready to serve the increasing growth in passengers’ numbers by the time the terminal is commissioned in 2019. The incorporation of Hala Bahrain is BAC’s first announcement towards fulfilling strategy and it will be followed by other announcements that are targeting other services in the airport.
BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
