A 23-year-old Albanian was stopped in the Perugia airport Monday as he tried to board a flight to London posing as an Italian tourist from Tuscany. Agents chatted with the man to verify his Tuscan accent, which he did not possess. Police then checked his Italian identity card and found it had been doctored. Police discovered the city of Viareggio had issued the identity card to a man born and raised there and who had reported the document stolen. Police said the Albanian slipped his own photograph in the document. The impersonator was arrested for receiving and using a forged document.
