Airports of Thailand (AoT) President Flying Officer Anirut Thanomkulabutra has insisted that Don Muang Airport will be officially reopened on October 1, 2012, as scheduled. Mr. Anirut said a new commanding center will soon be set up at Don Muang Airport in preparation for the facility’s reopening on October 1. Airport personnel as well as immigration and customs officers and airline staff will be stationed at the center to ensure smooth services and address any problems that may occur. The preparation of the duty-free area is now being made under the supervision of The Mall Group and Duty Free Co, Ltd. For passengers who wish to commute between Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang Airports, shuttle bus services are provided from 05.00 hrs-22.00 hrs. There are also other transportations available, such as rental cars, limousines, taxis and public buses. It is expected that there will be 12 million passengers using the service at Don Muang Airport, with 281 flights daily, in its first year of operation. From centerweb
