Russian Ambassador to Egypt Veniamin Popov expressed hope that four million Russian tourists will return to Egypt in October, saying the Russians are exerting pressure on the government in this regard.
Speaking at a seminar organized by the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, Popov, who is also the chairman of Group of strategic vision "Russia – Islamic world", stressed the necessity of cooperation to fight terrorism to maintain stability in the whole world.
Russia should boost cooperation with other partners to thwart attempts by Daesh to possess weapons of mass destruction, he added.
As for the Middle East, he said Russia returned again to the Middle East through its intervention to settle conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen.
