With less than two months to go for the Dubai Tram to open, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) workers are on overdrive to finish the work in time.
Phase one of the tram system is expected to begin operations on November 11 on the 10.6 kilometre network from Dubai Marina to Al Sufouh.
To be served by 11 trains, each with five carriages divided into Gold, Silver and Family, the Dubai Tram is expected to serve 27,000 riders per day.
The first in the world to have platform screen doors at all 11 stations, the electrically powered tram is designed to be one of the safest across the globe.
The trams will operate every six minutes from 5.30am to midnight daily, with each train carrying a maximum of 405 passengers.
Operating at a maximum speed of 50km/h, the tram will take 42 minutes for trip from Dubai Marina to Al Sufouh.
