Egypt's consulate in Jeddah has spotted over the recent period the arrest of a number of citizens who tried to illegally travel to Saudi Arabia.
They tried to violate the electronic print identification system applied by the Saudi authorities, said Hisham el Naqeeb, Egypt's assistant foreign minister of consular and expatriates' affairs.
He warned that violators face risk of being arrested and referred for trial.
Authorities check the data of all comers to the kingdom to discover those who are banned from entering the kingdom, he noted.
He called on all Egyptian citizens to abide by Saudi laws when they seek to travel.
