The Government Summit, the world's biggest platform for the advancement of government services, announces that Emirates, a global connector of people and places, is to be the official carrier for the 2014 event. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the second Government Summit will be held in Dubai from 10th -12th February 2014. The 2014 Summit will provide a much needed platform for exchanging knowledge and experience with three themes shaping the Summit's high-level dialogue and proceedings through the prism of "Leading Government Services". These themes comprise Citizen Happiness, Lessons from the Private Sector, and the Future of Government Services. As a premier service provider and a global connector of people, Emirates is ideally placed to be the official carrier as the Summit seeks to explore the relationship between citizens and governments through the provision of services. Emirates' participation in the 2014 Government Summit reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid at the 2013 Government Summit, when he said that "the government of the future is as hospitable as hotels while offering services around the clock like airlines." "As an airline that gives the highest priority to standards of service to our customers, it is fitting that we should support a summit of this nature," said Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline. "We connect people, thinking and ideas in many different ways every day and this event is another good example." The 2014 Government Summit will bring together more than 3500 of government and business leaders, senior government officials, and subject matter experts to collaborate on new and innovative ways to make governments even more responsive and accessible to the people they serve. This includes sharing best practices with their counterparts from around the world, and discussing sector-specific approaches that lead to the highest possible levels of customer experience, amid the need for fresh thinking and a new and different way of doing government business.
