The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority has set out to enhance the country's aviation sector over the coming five years, according to a statement received by the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) here. The authority said in the statement that it had held consultative meetings with the various players in the sector. Its Director-General, Colonel Wosenyeleh Hunegnaw, said the service provided by the authority had been enhanced over the years and it was taking various measures to help make the air transport industry even more efficient and reliable. Hence, he added, the authority had formulated a new air transport policy and submitted it to the relevant government bodies after thorough deliberation with stakeholders. The new policy would enhance the industry and relations between the authority and stakeholders and aviation industry players. Representatives from national flag carrier Ethiopian Airlines, the Ethiopian Airports Enterprise, relevant government ministries and private sector operators and foreign airliners took part in the day-long consultative meeting held here last week.
