Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it will fly its Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Jeddah on Aug. 31. “Ethiopian is flying its Dreamliner to Jeddah as part of its rotating Middle East destinations before it flies to other destinations,” the airline stated yesterday. The first Ethiopian Dreamliner landed on African Soil touching down at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport on Aug. 17. The next day Ethiopian started flying its Dreamliner to African destination with the first flight of Ethiopian Dreamliner dubbed “The Dream Tour,” on Aug. 18, with a sightseeing flight to Mount Kilimanjaro for around 270 invited guests, consisting of ministers, ambassadors, other VIPs, Ethiopian ShebaMiles Gold members and the media. As part of its flight to rotating African destinations, Ethiopian Dreamliner will fly to destinations such as Kilimanjaro, Mombassa, Harare, Lusaka, Nairobi, Entebbe, Lagos, Johannesburg, Abuja, Malabo, Douala, Lome, Accra, Maputo, and Luanda. Passengers from and to the above destinations will enjoy the first and best possible on-board travel experience with Ethiopian Dreamliner. Ethiopian, the fastest growing airline in Africa, encourages its customers to book with their local Ethiopian office or travel agency to be part of this experience, said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian. “Ethiopian Airlines is a truly indigenous African airline, which has been pioneering the African aviation for the last 67 years and it is only natural for us to deploy our first B787 in Africa,” he said. In affirmation of its commitment as Africa’s flagship carrier, we are naming our first B787 Dreamliner as ‘Africa First,’ he added. Once Ethiopian takes delivery of its second Dreamliner, the aircraft will operate on an assigned scheduled route, which will be announced in the near future. From arabnews
