Spokesman for Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid Tuesday denied giving any remarks to the British daily paper Guardian on the incident of hijacking an EgyptAir plane.
Earlier in the day, the EgyptAir Airbus A320, with 50 passengers on board in addition to seven crew members and one security member, was hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus.
Flight MS181 passenger plane was originally travelling from Alexandra's Borg El Arab Airport to Cairo.
Seven people, namely the pilot, the co-pilot, a flight attendant, a security officer and three passengers are still inside the plane. The others were released.
