Head of the Yemeni Air Transportation Mazen Ghanem ordered the closure of Hodeidah International Airport as of Monday and till further notice.
Ghanem said the decision was taken in the wake of a series of attacks on the airport.
A fence surrounding the airport will be set up to ensure the safety and security of the air aviation and planes.
Hodeidah governorate has formed several military committees to settle problems around the airport and control the Houthis' attempt to seize the airport and use it to bring in arms from the countries backing them.
