India's Jet Airways is set to launch direct flights between Dammam in Saudi Arabia and Delhi from Saturday. The service will operate four times a week and will be the third connection between Dammam and India, with Boeing 737 services already operating from Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. The new service will operate Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays - and provide onward connections from and to Kathmandu and Dhaka as well as to some Indian domestic flights, the airline said in a statement. The carrier said the introduction of the new service to Dammam would further strengthen Jet Airways' presence in the Gulf. The service will complement the airline's existing Gulf operations to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah as well as Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial oOfficer, Jet Airways, said: "The airline has already established itself as a prominent brand in the highly competitive Indo-Gulf sector... We are confident that the new service will equally prove popular with our guests."
