Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) along with Kenya Airways have organised for a two-day promotional event across two days – 10-11 January 2014 to be held at Al Ain Zoo. The event looks to promote Kenya as an authentic wildlife safari destination and showcase a variety of cultures. The objective of the campaign is to encourage wildlife enthusiasts visiting the zoo to visit Kenya and experience the authentic safari firsthand. The event will also give KTB an opportunity to promote the wide variety of safari options available in Kenya. KTB managing director Muriithi Ndegwa said: “the UAE is one of the key tourism source markets to Kenya and has shown remarkable growth in the past few years. In the 2013 financial year that ended in June, UAE recorded a 24.4% growth with 20,624 visitors to Kenya compared to 16,583 in 2012.” Promotional activities will include a Masai Cultural Troupe performance and interactive drumming classes, hair braiding and Kenyan Henna, as well as a face painter and fun photo opportunity corners. The organization also recently launched an Arabic and English Facebook page – Magical Kenya GCC. Source: Travel Daily
