Passengers and crew onboard an Air India Kuwait-Goa-Chennai flight on Tuesday had a narrow escape when the aircraft’s front wheel tyre burst during landing, it has been reported. All 68 passengers onboard the Airbus A320 disembarked at Dabolim airport, according to The Times of India.“The two front nose wheels burst and were worn out with the friction,” a source told the newspaper. “Luckily, it was not raining when the flight was landing or conditions on the runway would have been slippery,” they added. The aircraft escaped any major damage and the runway had some superficial damage, said the newspaper.Naval authorities inspected the runway and operations continued throughout the day. “No flights were affected by the mishap,” sources said.
