The Mandarin Oriental, Paris, has opened its courtyard garden for the summer season. Providing one of the most charming green spaces within the city for guests and locals to dine, enjoy cocktails and socialise, the courtyard garden is now open daily from 11am – 2am. Mandarin Oriental, Paris’s landscaped garden provides an ideal location and space to enjoy dining menus from both Bar 8, the hotel’s intimate bar which serves an exclusive ‘Street Marx’ menu by Chef Thierry Marx, and Camélia, Mandarin Oriental, Paris’ all-day dining restaurant, with French cuisine that is influenced by Chef Marx’s love and knowledge of Japan. Guests can experience dishes within the garden from Camélia’s new summer menu which includes: ‘Black tea infused langoustines with green pea ravioli, plum tomato and burrata’ as well as ‘John Dory and fennel with confit tomatoes and olives taggiasche’, or ‘Roasted farmer’s chicken, inspired by Cesar’. For dessert, pastries by Chef Pierre Mathieu include ‘Wild strawberries and olive oil biscuits’, ‘Biscuits with Champagne raspberries and macadamia’, as well as a large selection of ice cream and sorbets. Dishes are also available from Bar 8’s ‘Street Marx’ menu. As well as outside seating for everyday dining, guests can reserve the beautifully designed bird-cake style ‘La Table du Jardin’, which was designed by Jouin-Manku and offers space to entertain six to eight guests for a unique dining experience amongst the flowers and trees. The garden also provides the perfect location for a drink with friends in the evening. Guests can choose from the hotel’s new wine selection of pink wines, from Côtes de Provence Rosé to Orenga de Gaffory 2011, or enjoy one of the newly created cocktails specifically designed for hot summer days, such as ‘Springtime in Paris’ which is made up of: Champagne, pink wine from Provence, Aperol, grapefruit bitter and rhubarb, or the non-alcoholic cocktail, ‘TM 4 L’Eau Furieuse’, a unique cocktail created by Thierry Marx himself, made up of: ginger, sugar, lime, lemon, anise and tonic.
