Marsa Alam International Airport received on Thursday the first flight of Germany's Small Planet Airlines, with 175 Dutch tourists on board.
It is the first flight arriving in the Red Sea town from The Netherlands.
The flight took off from Amsterdam Airport, said Mohamed Taman, the head of the airport's media office.
In a press statement Thursday, Taman added that this new route would increase the inflow of Dutch tourists to Egypt by 35 percent, noting that Marsa Alam is an important destination for Dutch tourists.
