Amman - MENA

Nothing in general can prevent Iranian tourists from visiting Jordan, said Jordanian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Nayef Hmeidi al-Fayez. Iranians, like other foreign nationals, are required to obtain a visa before entering Jordan, the minister told "Ad-Dustour" newspaper of Saturday. On Wednesday, Iranian Ambassador to Jordan Mostafa Mosleh-Zadeh said his country was ready to supply Jordan with gas for 30 years in exchange for Jordanian goods, but it was later revealed that Iran was seeking access for Shiite pilgrims to be allowed to visit the country for pilgrimages to certain religiously significant sites. Commenting on the news, Fayez said he was not officially informed aboutthe offer.
