Around 141 passengers and crew members on board a RAK Airways flight had a narrow escape as the plane had to make an emergency landing on Friday night owing to a technical problem, Gulf News has learnt. The Calicut-bound flight took off at around 9.30pm on Friday but it had to return after it developed a technical problem in one of its engines, an official at the Ras Al Khaimah Airport said. He said the plane made an emergency landing at around 11.30pm. "There are no injuries," he said, adding that the plane was repaired and left for Calicut at 6.40am on Saturday.
