Riyadh - Arab Today

The forthcoming Riyadh Travel Fair 2014 will witness an 18% increase in exhibitors compared to 2013. This was confirmed by the organiser of the event. The annual event now in its sixth year will be held from 15-18 April 2014 and will see new national tourism organisations participating for the first time including stands for Qatar, Mauritius, SriLanka and the Maldives. The Fair will be held at the Four Season Hotel Riyadh and is open to travel and tourism professionals as well as the general public. Bander’ Algryni general manager ASAS Exhibitions said: “Saudi nationals are increasingly travelling overseas at a greater number year on year. Catering to this need, the Riyadh Travel Fair provides an opportunity for domestic and overseas destinations, hospitality service providers and other tourism related businesses, to directly meet with the travel professionals and travellers.” The 2013 edition of the Riyadh Travel Fair saw a total recorded number of visitors reach 13,678. Total visitor numbers for the 2014 edition are expected to further increase with a projected number of 15,000 – 20,000 visitors targeted. The Arabian Gulf region will have a strong presence at the fair including stands by; Abu Dhabi Tourism & Cultural Authority, Qatar Tourism Authority and Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority to name just a few. Exhibitors from Asia, Oceania, Europe and North Africa will also be present, along with travel agency and online booking site representatives from such companies as Al Muayed Tourist & Travel Agency, Arabian Travel and Tourism ITL World and Flyin.com.
