The Russian sailing vessel Pallada arrived on Saturday in its Far Eastern home port of Vladivostok, concluding its three-month international trans-Pacific expedition, a spokesman for the Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University, which owns the vessel, said. The Pallada, with a crew of over 100 cadets from the university and other Far Eastern naval academies, set sail from Vladivostok on January 27. During the journey, the ship visited China, Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea. The three-mast Pallada is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest sailing vessel in the world, with a speed exceeding 18 knots. The sailing ship, the winner of many international festivals and races, was built in 1989 and has performed over 100 international trips since then. It has also been visited by many famous people, including Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger. A fresh crew of cadets will set off on a training mission on board the Pallada on June 14.
