Las Vegas
Las Vegas - Arab Today

Las Vegas enjoyed a stellar year for tourism in 2014, reaching a historic milestone and attracting more than 40 million visitors for the first time.
And if the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’ continues along its current visitor trajectory, it’s predicted that the city could approach 41 million visitors by the end of the year, says the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority.
The previous record was set in 2012, when the city drew 39.7 million tourists.
Officials credit the growth in tourism numbers to increased hotel and resort developments, new attractions, world-class entertainment led by Celine Dion, Cirque du Soleil and broadway hit "Jersey Boys," as well first-rate, Michelin-starred dining.
Likewise, an increase in international flights between Canada and Mexico has also helped fuel growth.
Meanwhile, like every year, New Year’s Eve in Sin City promises to be a carnivalesque extravaganza, when the entire Strip is shut down to traffic and 300,000 revelers take over the glittering city. At midnight, the casinos band together to put on a spectacular, choreographed fireworks show.
This year’s New Year’s Eve entertainment includes Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Britney Spears at Axis Theater, Planet Hollywood.
