The Union Minister for Tourism, Shri Dr K Chiranjeevi, will be paying an official visit to Spain from 29 January to February 3. During his visit to Spain, Tourism Minister will be inaugurating India Tourism Pavilion in FITUR and he will hold bilateral discussions with Spanish Tourism Minister Mr. Jose Manuel Soria Lopez. During the meet, Discussion will focus on the cooperation in the tourism sector. On the sidelines of this visit Dr.K. Chiranjeevi will be meeting Mr. Artur Mas, President of Catalonia (Chief Minister is called President here.) On 31st January, Tourism Minister will be meeting Mr Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of UNWTO. The Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1956. India and Spain share similarities in their tourism products with both the countries being looked upon as cultural destinations. Both sides Endeavour to develop common approaches to address new and emerging challenges in tourism Sector. In 2009, India has signed an MOU with Spain on Cooperation in the field of Tourism, which provides a roadmap for cooperation in a number of tourism related areas. India is exploring the possibility of hosting 1st Joint Working Group Meeting on Tourism Cooperation between India and Spain at a mutually agreeable date and venue. From incredibleindia
