The number of tourists coming to Nepal by air increased by 13.7 percent in February 2012 compared to the corresponding month last year. A total of 42,716 international tourists arrived in Nepal in February 2012, the Nepal Tourism Board said. The number of Indian tourists increased by 29 percent in this period while those of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan increased by 12 percent, 16 percent and 23 percent respectively. Similarly, tourist arrivals from the European countries have gone up by 17.5 percent whereas the number of tourists coming from the Netherlands and Norway has decreased by 20 percent and 7 percent respectively. A total of 84,744 tourists arrived in Nepal by air in the last two months of 2012.
