Turkish Airlines has announced that is to halt flights to Syria. Turkey's national carrier will suspend ticket sales from Sunday but flights to and from Damascus and Aleppo will continue for a while for passengers who already have tickets, AP reported. Reuters however said all flights would cease from Sunday. The announcement comes a day after Turkey closed its embassy in Damascus and withdrew the ambassador. Last week, it told its citizens to leave Syria.
