The UAE will receive a first-of-its-kind geological park at Al Jahili Garden in Al Ain. The park will display the country’s major geological features in the form of 22 carefully selected rocks, as reported by WAM. The park, according to Suhail Al Muhairi, executive director of infrastructure and assets sector at Al Ain City Municipality, would set a new trend by blending education and leisure. The new park, which reflects the UAE’s environmental and natural diversity, is an outdoor natural history museum of sorts. Dr Mattar Al Nuaimi, general manager of Al Ain Municipality, said: “The Geological Park forms a natural museum that disseminates information concerned with UAE’s nature and its geographical diversity.” The park will shortly get more geological specimens from different parts of the Emirates, along with a team of dedicated tour guides, who received a tailor-made training at the UAE University (UAEU), who will receive visitors at the park to answer their queries.
