The Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement, Sunday, that more than 170 members of ISIS organization were killed and a number of cars and vehicles were destroyed in air strikes launched by the army in the military industrial zone, in the district of Sharqat.

  The statement pointed out that the security forces killed today a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt tried to target civilians in the area of Al Jadidah in the right coast of the city of Mosul. The statement aslo indicated that the intelligence services continue to hunt down some of the militants who are still encamped in the areas located on the left and right of the city.   Major Shaker Jawdat, commander of the federal police, said that the Iraqi police have taken control of a factory for the manufacture of chemical explosives and the development of Grad missiles in the old city of Mosul. He added that these forces continued to clean the old city of the remnants of the organization and seized quantities chemicals used in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices.

On the other hand, sources said that Iraqi army downed an Islamic State-guided drone on the borders of Tal Afar town, located west of Mosul. " Army troops downed a developed IS-guided drone on the borders of Tal Afar," the source added. "The drone was equipped with surveillance devices," the source indicated.

Iraqi forces are preparing to launch a military campaign to restore Tal Afar district from the grip of ISIS, the last stronghold of the organization in the province of Nineveh. The preparations came after Iraqi forces regained control of the entire city of Mosul last month following a nine-month military campaign. Meanwhile, Mobilization Forces media reported, on Sunday, that the security forces in cooperation with their forces foiled an attempt of ISIS elements to infiltrate in north Salahuddin.
