Iraqi Ministry of Defense said that life returned to normal in Mousl’s left bank after its fully liberation from the grip of extremist ISIS group. Meanwhile, the Iraqi army revealed that it managed to control the road linking between Telaffar and Mousl, saying that it is considered one of the strategic roads used by the extremists to receive supply.
The Iraqi army’s success to control the road will prevent the extremist militants from leaving the city to escape from the Iraqi troops. Military source revealed that Telaffar enjoys strategic importance as it is considered the link between the extremist militants in Iraq on one hand and their strongholds in Syria on the other hand.
According to the source, the Iraqi troops became one kilometer from the Levant Gate in Mousl, adding, “We control the road and the gate, as the road between Mousl and Telaffar begins with the Levant Gate.”
On the other hand, Iraq’s Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Wednesday revealing that the security forces have been deployed in the street of Mousl’s left bank upon the orders of Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi. It added that the forces will work to achieve security and stability in the liberated areas and to confront any potential attack from the extremists.
The statement added that the efforts exerted by the Iraqi army led to the opening of the markets and shops, as the forces worked to inspect and cleanse the streets and housing buildings from the remnants of the extremist group. It added that the schools opened their doors to the students, while the local authorities started to provide services to the citizens.
The residents, on their hand, were keen to appreciate the military sources for their efforts to restore security and stability, calling the citizens of the city’s right bank to cooperate with the Iraqi forces to expel the extremist elements from the country as whole as soon as possible.
