Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived at the Arc de Triomphe in downtown Paris, where the key ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the World War I Armistice is beginning.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is beneath the Arc de Triomphe, is a monument to the warriors, who died in 1914-1918.
Most heads of delegations arrived at the Arc de Triomphe from the Elysee Palace in a bus. Putin headed there in the new Russian-made Aurus armored limousine from the airport. US President Donald Trump is also traveling around the French capital in his cortege.
The Russian president took a seat at the main tribune together with the other leaders. Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov is also present at the ceremony.
After the event, French President Emmanuel Macron will invite the guests to the Elysee Palace for a working breakfast.
