Russia demands that Ukraine ensures security at Russian embassies and general consulated, Russian Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Alexander Lukashevich said on Monday.
"We demand that the Ukrainian side ensures unconditional immunity of Russian embassies and general consulates in Ukraine in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, brings those responsible for attacks to justice," Lukashevich said.
He reminded that nationalists have attacked the Russian embassy in Kiev, burned down a diplomatic vehicle and threatened to storm the diplomatic mission. Nationalists threw flares at the building of the Russian general consulate in Kharkov and burned tires in front of the Russian general consulate in Lvov.
"We are warning that Kiev's course in coordination with the US and EU on provoking a conflict with Russia will have serious consequences. We will firmly stop any encroachment on sovereignty and security of the Russian Federation," he concluded.
