Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Thursday met here today with US Undersecretary of State for Near East Affairs Timothy Linder King.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the overall developments and challenges facing Yemen in the backdrop of the Iran-backed Houthi coup against the congruence of the Yemeni people.
According to Yemeni news agency, President Hadi confirmed that his country supports the US and President Trump's strategy towards Iran and terror, reiterating his government's desire to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, based on the GCC initiative, its executive mecanism, the outcomes of the national dialogue, and the UN resolution No. 2216.
For his part, the US official expressed his country's support for Yemen, its constitutional legitimacy and the relevant UN resolutions to realize the aspirations of the Yemeni people to end the "coup d'état, establish the required security and stability and stop Iranian interference in the region and its support for Houthi militias.
