Aden - Abdel Ghani Yahia

Violent clashes have been erupted on Thursday between the Yemeni governmental troops loyal to legitimate government on one hand and Houthi militias and other forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other hand at Al-Jouf Governorate. According to military official Abdullah Al Ashraf, the governmental troops launched a surprise attack against the strongholds of insurgents, saying that they managed to control a number of strategic sites.

At Masloob Front, Yemeni military forces bombarded the sites controlled by Houthi militias and Saleh’s forces, as they clashed with them leading to the killing of a number of militants and the injury of others. They also managed to destroy a large number of equipment possessed by the insurgents in Beida Governorate during the battles witnessed there.

Houthis militias fled the scene leaving behind a lot of wounded and military equipment, while the forces and the resistance continued to progress after Houthis defeat in  “Golden Spear” operation. This operation managed to turn the balance of power in favor of Yemeni forces.

The successive victories of army forces and the resistance present a huge change in freeing all western coasts of Yemen from Houthis rebels, while the Arab Coalition continues to support the Yemeni army in their battle to enable Yemeni people to live with dignity.

Arab Coalition fighter jets continued bombing Houthis locations in Saada governorate, targeting heavy machinery and sites in Al-Abu Jabara valley and Al-Bakaa, which resulted in killing Houthis elements while others were wounded. Coast Guard forces seized an unknown ship in Al-Mahra governorate, East of Yemen ,filled of different weapons according to “Tomorrow’s Aden” newspaper.

No official comment has been released regarding this ship, but the Arab coalition declared more than once its confiscating of Iranian ships and boats filled with smuggled weapons for Houthis in Yemen. On the other hand ,Yemeni Minister of Transport Murad Al-Halimi denied any rumors about closing Hodeidah port, adding that the government still allowing ships to enter the port, but only through United Nations office, which is responsible for checking the coming ships to this port.

On the political side, Houthi group welcomed the American support for the idea to hold negotiations sponsored by the United Nations to achieve peace in Yemen. However, it expressed its insistence on implementing the roadmap offered by U.S former Secretary of State John Kerry. It stressed its support for any solution for the Yemeni crisis to achieve peace in the country and to end the current conflict.

According to sources, Houthi leaders said that they followed the recent statements issued by the American officials, expressing their support for any political solution aiming to end the current crisis witnessed in the country as soon as possible.
