Alexandria – Ahmed Khaled
Morocco is set to be the guest of honour at the Alexandria International Book Fair 2013, which will open on March 21 and run until April 7.
Organised by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in partnership
with the Egyptian Publishers Association (EPA), the book fair will bring together almost 60 Egyptian, Arab and international publishers, with Taiwan making its Alexandria debut.
The book fair will be accompanied by a series of cultural events and activities and will honour Moroccan authors and intellectuals.
Saudi Arabia's large wing will aim to introduce Alexandrian book lovers to the Kingdom's cultural output, libraries and research centres, and Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters will present its publications, which includes the series Alam al-Maarefa and Ibdaat, Alam al-Fikr magazine and works of Arabic heritage. Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) will offer its latest publication on politics and strategic studies along with the latest translations in the area of world affairs.
Lovers of used books can head to the Azbakiya Wall and el-Nabi Danial section.
