The 35th Cairo International film festival, starting on November 27 will see an important participation from the Arab world in all categories.
The Film Festival Director said: “The festival will see 12 films from eight Arab countries: Jordan, Lebanon,
Morocco, Syria, Kuwait, Tunisia, Algeria and UAE.
Jordan will take part in the festival with the film “Al Goma Al Akhera” (The Last Friday) with Ali Suleiman and Yasmin el-Masry. The film tells the story of a divorced father who discovers he needs life-saving surgery that he cannot afford.
The Emirates will introduce “Zel El Bahr” (Sea Shadow) with Ebrar Al-Khodarv and Omar Al-Molla. Zel El Bahr tells the story of a man who falls in love but cannot express his feelings freely because of his country’s conservative traditions.
Lebanon will introduce three movies; “Taxi Balad”, “Tanoura Max” (Mini-skirt) and ‘Ragol Sharif” (Honoured Man). “Ragol Sharrif” stars Magdy Mashmoush and Shady Hadad. The film tells the story of a man who returns to his country to meet a mysterious woman.
Morocco will also introduce three movies: "Onzor Lel Molk Ala Wagh Al Kamar", "Al Maghdoub Alihom" (The Rejected), Hekayat Tfoula" (Children’s Tales)
