Preparations for Iraq's biggest cultural festival are underway in Baghdad.
The 10th Brotherhood Meeting Festival for cultural, artistic, heritage and tourism handicrafts begins later in the week.
The deputy chairman of the supreme committee responsible for managing the festival, Mohammed Hassan al-Rifai told Arab Today that several cultural connoisseurs from Iraq and across the Arab world would attend the festival. He explained that art galleries, sporting and literature events were on the agenda.
Al-Rifai added that the festival would be held in secure and stable surroundings.
The annual event is attended by artists, thinkers, media figures, as well as the NGOs and other Iraqi institutions.
